Imler's Poultry - A Foodservice Tradition

How It All Began…

Our history of commitment to our customer began over a century ago in 1903; Our founder Leff Imler began the tradition by traveling on a 2 day journey from Altoona Pa to Rainsburg PA to huckster chickens, eggs, vegetables, fruit, beef and pork by horse drawn wagon.

In 1946, the  Imler family then began growing, processing and distributing  turkeys on their own.  Until the early 1980’s they then decided to focus solely on distribution.

When the first Imler delivery trucks hit the road they had a delivery radius of 30-50 miles. Today with a fleet of over 50 trucks on the road a day,  Imler’s,  will travel up to 250 miles to deliver the freshest quality product to their customers.

Today, the family’s   4th, 5th & 6th generation delivers poultry, beef,  pork  and deli products to a much larger area from headquarters in Altoona Pa.

In the early days,  Imler’s sold mostly fresh poultry. Today on the trucks you could find up to 4,000 different product lines.  They could include fresh and frozen poultry, pre-packaged deli salads, fresh pork and beef, deli meats and even seafoods.

Nestled at the center of the property at Imler’s Poultry you will find the Outlet Store.  It is open for public business Tuesday thru Saturday.  The meat counters are packed full of with items sure to provide a quick meal.  Also, available is fresh produce grown by local Mennonite farmers, and other locally packed foods.

Imler’s Poultry is proud to be a  family owned and operated business.
